Waiting and waiting and waiting....

Well the last Friday I posted about being frustrated with waiting for the USCIS I received a letter in the mail from them the next Monday and then our fingerprinting appointments later that week. So, on this Friday I am going to post again about being frustrated with waiting for the USCIS and see if we get anything next week.

We are still waiting for our I-171H approval. My dossier has been complete for over a month except for this one piece of paper. My facilitator has everything else in Ukraine already translated and notarized, so we are just waiting for this last thing. Tuesday will only be two weeks since we were fingerprinted, but it has been 2 months since I sent my application and 1 1/2 months since I sent them my homestudy. If they go by my fingerprinting appointment then it could be another month or so until we receive our approval, but if they go by when they received our homestudy then we could have the approval within the next couple of weeks. We have no idea where we are in the pile to be reviewed. I wish there was a way to get some type of update as to where we are but we really have no idea.

So, we wait and we pray for patience and for the people at the USCIS to pick up our application and approve us quickly.

Happy Valentine's Day - the good and the bad

Well, the bad news is that my sweet little Morgan is sick. My precious child that has never had an ear infection, never thrown up, never had anything more than a cold in her 5 1/2 years just took her first trip to the hospital. She is okay. We just had to go to the hospital because of course she had to get sick on a weekend. She woke up at 4:30 this morning complaining that her ear hurt. This was followed by some throwing up and a fever. We waited a little while to see how she would do but decided to take her in. They were great and had us in and out. She does have an ear infection and the dr. thinks that the pain from the ear ache is what is causing her to throw up. They gave her a prescription for an antibiotic and some ear drops and we are also giving her Motrin. So, all in the same day she had her first experience with an ear ache and throwing up. I guess I should be happy that we have gone 5 1/2 years without having to deal with any of this, but it is still so hard to see her poor little sad face. The good thing is that she seems to be getting some relief from the ear drops and Motrin and is now sleeping. Lets hope she sleeps through the night and I don't have to wake up and wash sheets and blankets again.

The good news for today is that we had our taxes done this morning and we are getting a pretty nice return. My sister stayed with Morgan for a few hours since we had made the appointment a while ago. This money will really help with the adoption expenses!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Fingerprint appointment!!!

We received our letters in the mail today with the date and time for our FBI fingerprints that we need to get our I-171H approval. Our appointment is Tuesday, February 17th at 8:00am. Once we are fingerprinted it is just a waiting game to receive the I-171H approval and then all of our paperwork will be done!

Keep us in your prayers that things won't take long once we are fingerprinted.

Well, it's something

I received the letter in the mail today from the USCIS saying that they have received my I-600A application. I mailed it over a month ago, so it's nice that they finally acknowledged receiving it. It's not a big step, but it's something. At least now I have an official referral number for my application. We're still waiting for our fingerprinting appt. letter, but from what I have heard that usually follows the receipt letter within a few days. The appt. will probably be about 2 weeks after I receive that letter.

So, here's hoping that we get our fingerprinting appt. letter by the end of the week.
